WHAT IS THIS LESSON ABOUT?
Does your marriage (or your life) match your desires? This bonus lesson is a conversation with a real couple working hard to create life-balance between work, family, community, and health… while working to deepen their marital partnership with one another.
In this deep-dive conversation, Laura elicits insights from Ryan and Erin Sousley on how they work to balance it all.
Laura selected Ryan and Erin for this conversation because of how they actively put dreams on paper and pursue them day after day. They are a couple who are highly intentional about their vision, direction and focus in life.
As a young professional couple with three children, Ryan and Erin personify an active, balanced lifestyle.
One key takeaway from this conversation is that the moto, “Small Things Often”, applies to achieving work/life balance as well as achieving relationship health.
You can make progress each day toward a life that is lived by design. But you have to begin by clarifying what your priorities really are; how those priorities match your larger goals and dreams; and then you must be honest (perhaps even ruthlessly honest) about how your time, effort, and current commitments in life match up (or not) to those larger dreams.
Lastly, remember… perfection is never the goal. Perfection is impossible, and not really the point.
